The ideal candidate will have 1500-2000 hands on hours. As this is a specialist practice, regular training of advanced techniques will be provided in order for you to meet the demands of an established case load. The right person will be open to training.
The ideal candidate will be compassionate and empathetic, practice good communication skills, can meet the needs of a broad range of people, and has a good sense of humor to balance it all out. S/he feels comfortable in his or her career choice. College education with natural sciences preferred, and past or current work as a CPT or other movement training is very helpful. Must be strong in anatomy, have good kinesthetic and intuitive senses, and a deep desire and ability to learn. Some knowledge in structure-function relationships desired.
Your commitment as a Therapist-In-Training is that you have a strong work ethic, good self care habits, and can find a way to reach out when your practice has you feeling challenged or burned out. You are self motivated to immerse yourself in continuing studies, as if this is your Life's Path, and you find questions to ask. You have an openness to new information and an ability to incorporate it into your practice. You understand that bodywork is a vast world of information, techniques, and concepts, not readily grasped and not to be rushed. You understand that this is not a job, but instead a unique opportunity for a long term career path guided by a practitioner who has devoted herself to this same Life Path and is willingly sharing her knowledge and entrusting her case load.
My commitment to a Therapist-In-Training will be to pass on advanced bodywork techniques, learned from physical therapists and other soft tissue specialists, and to share my own knowledge, based on exposure to medical settings and trainings in medical massage and eastern styles... Ways to work "smarter, not harder", and ways to open your concepts about holistic health beyond our western, for-profit medical paradigm. In the short term, you will have the opportunity to work with an established case load and receive periodic trainings in the form of barters with myself (practice owner), based on client feedback and your questions. In the long term, you will earn the recognition and referrals of local medical providers, and carry your own case load, with an advanced skill set not readily found locally.
This position will be part time leading to full time, and eventually by merit you will earn your own case load as a fully autonomous practitioner.
EWTA is a healing environment and the intention of the space is for grounding and sanctuary, conducive to wellness and open to all.
This will be an independent contractor position; pay will be competitive in order to offset periodic training time; you keep gratuity. Some expenses may be covered with a commitment to this endeavor, such as practitioner's ins. and ME license reimbursement.
For future consideration, please forward your résumé, including a list of 2-3 professional references and a letter of interest to Meghí at: EWTAFrontDesk@tutanota.com
