Fómhar
It comes as a surprise to many to learn that Autumn begins in early August. It makes more sense if we consider that this is the start of Harvest season, called Fómhar in Gaelic. Paying attention to the treetops this time of year, we begin to notice the copper and gold colors beginning to tinge the rich full greens... Summer has reached peak maturity. The fruits of our labor, our gardens and foraged foods are ripe and delicious, and we are looking ahead to the coming months as a time of abundance, sweetness, joy, and taking in the fullness of all that's around us. But it's also about planning, sharing, and storing, and infusing into ourselves what we can keep with us from this most wonderful season. Just like all of Nature's creatures we preparing for the coming demands of Winter. Even if we can't bear to think of it yet, the bears have begun planning and so are we.
This table Shiatsu and classic massage fusion is designed for deep release of body and mind as we begin to let go of what we cannot keep, and shed the energies and other things that cannot come with us, but knowing we will again return to this place of fullness. The Autumn Session focuses on arms and upper body- our treetops- and overall tension, including lumbo-sacral tension that may have arisen from our year's work.
